    Mrs. Marie Grant Hill, age 92, a resident of the Gilead Shore community in Blounts Creek, N.C., died Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington, N.C.

    The graveside service will be held at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, N.C. on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11 am. The service will be conducted by Pastor Michael Hill.

    Marie was born on May 1, 1928; she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Shaheen and Uriah Grant. On September 6, 1952, she married the love of her life, Lester C. Hill, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2017.

    Marie was a member of Ephesus FWB Church. She was an avid gardener, an excellent cook, and a hard worker who made sure her family was well taken care of.

    Marie is survived by her daughter and son in law, Noel and Gary Wallace of Blounts Creek, N.C., her brother and his wife, Bill and Ruby Shaheen of Highlands, N.C., grandchildren Matthew and his wife Meredith Wallace, Kelsey Wallace of New Bern, and her cat and constant companion Anna.

    In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Shaheen and Ben Grant.

    Family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
