    Mr. Lynwood Earl Thurman, age 70, a resident of Washington, NC passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his home.

    Mr. Thurman was born in Beaufort County, NC on July 17, 1950. He was the son of the late Marshall Lynn Thurman and Alma Cone Woolard Thurman Johnson.

    In his spare time Mr. Thurman enjoyed playing, writing and singing with his band members.

    Mr. Thurman was a man of few words but had a heart of gold and a laugh that could light up the room. He was a devoted brother, uncle and friend.

    Mr. Thurman is survived by two brothers, Ricky Thurman of Washington, Wayne Johnson of Chocowinity and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thurman was preceded in death by two brothers Joe Shannon Thurman and Robert Taylor and a sister Sharon Lynn Cahoon as well as his brother in law Bill Thorn Cahoon.

    In keeping with Mr. Thurman's wishes, there will be no services.

    In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Lynwood Thurman Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889.
