Raleigh, NC Over the weekend, the National File, the same outlet that originally broke the news of Cal Cunningham's extramarital affair with the wife of a disabled veteran, reported
on Cunningham's second extramarital affair with a Raleigh woman. The report comes only one week after Cunningham's last media availability in which he refused four times
to deny the existence of additional extramarital affairs.
Today, NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley called on Cunningham to either directly address the report of a second affair or suspend his campaign.
"North Carolinians have learned that Cal Cunningham betrayed his own family and our military community by having an extramarital affair with the wife of a disabled combat veteran, initiating an Army Reserve investigation. Now he is refusing to deny a second extramarital affair that has potentially spanned years,"
said NCGOP Chairman Whatley. "Cal Cunningham's continued silence on his misconduct, and on the latest National File story in particular, disqualifies him from serving our great state. If Cunningham lies, cheats, and betrays his own family, he will lie, cheat, and betray North Carolinians in Washington. It's time for Cunningham to either start providing North Carolinians with straight answers on his extramarital affairs or suspend his campaign."
Cunningham has yet to deny having an extramarital affair with Anne Gregory Teicher, an affair that was originally referenced
by a former Cunningham campaign staffer. The reporting indicates a number of connections between Cunningham and his alleged second mistress, including ominous social media posts by Teicher alluding to the affair.
