A Democratic Perspective | Eastern North Carolina Now

It makes total sense to me and is backed by my personal experience---what federal help that has been given still goes to corporate America rather than small business America. Banks have been bailed out and still refuse to make loans---unless you have so much collateral you don't really need them!

I wrote both Senators Hagan (D) and Burr (R) when I landed here after foreclosure and loss of business by 70% (still the same). I clearly cited the Soil Bank approach of FDR which saved my grandfather and the most plenteous segment of American business at the time--family farms. Neither of them really gave me the courtesy of a response nor follow-up. Personal phone calls to their offices got nothing either. Somebody on both sides of the aisle could care less about the "magic bullet" of helping the little guy who only wants to pay his bills.

Until we go back to the Depression Story, nothing will get better. Bush's expensive Middle East War in oil land only got us higher oil prices and more tax dollars to a land which could pay every penny for our services! Munitions companies profited. Blackwater and it's private contractors got rich quick. They have burned SUV's that came in the wrong color to show how materials were "destroyed" and more were needed!

I think this guy has analyzed it well. Until Statesmanship returns to Washington, we are doomed to gridlock. The new commercial of "Romney's first day in office" is a total joke. It reflects just exactly what has miserably failed starting from "Reagan's first day in office!"
