    Ms. Susan Renee Woolard, age 45, a resident of Charlotte and a former resident of Washington, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at her home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Oakdale Cemetery and officiated by Pastor Jeff Necessary. In light of the pandemic, there will be no public visitation.

    Susan was born in Beaufort County on July 29, 1975, daughter of Talmadge Gene Woolard and Ann Jackson Ross. A 1993 graduate of Northside High School, Susan went on to obtain her Associate's Degree in Nursing at Beaufort County Community College. Susan worked at Vidant Medical Center for eleven years and most recently at Atrium Health Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.

    Susan had a vibrant spirit and lit up every room she walked in with her charming personality, infectious smile, and easy laugh. She enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, and most everything involving the water. A lifelong pianist, Susan loved playing music and singing with her father and family. She was also an active member of Elevation Church in Charlotte.

    Susan is survived by her mother, Ann Ross and stepfather David of Washington; Talmadge Woolard and stepmother Mary Lou of Grimesland, sister Michelle Shepherd and her husband Brett of Washington, sister Mary "Weezie" Canada and her husband Heath of Newport, brother Robert Ingalls and his wife Jenna of Charlotte, sister Elizabeth "Beth" Edwards (Gary) of Greenville, and brother Chad Ross of Washington.

    In lieu of flowers, Susan would have deeply appreciated any memorial contributions to be made to Doves Nest, Charlotte's Rescue Mission, in Susan R. Woolard's memory, P.O. Box 33000 Charlotte, NC 28233.
