    Mr. Robert Joseph Cooper, age 72, a resident of Belhaven, NC died Wednesday February 17, 2021.

    A private graveside service will be held at later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday February 19, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.

    Mr. Cooper was born in Tyrell County on October 26, 1948, son of the late Robert Cecil Cooper and the late Elizabeth Pet Twiddy. He was a graduate of Creswell High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. On April 7, 1981 he married the former Nancy Ann Comstock who survives. Mr. Cooper was a carpenter who worked for William Waters and later worked as an independent carpenter. Mr. Cooper enjoyed fishing, but his greatest love was his grandchildren.

    Surviving along with his wife Nancy of the home is a daughter: Molly Elizabeth Cooper of Belhaven; a daughter-in-love: Stephanie Latham of Pantego; a son-in-love: Chuck Latham of Pantego; a son-in-law: Steve Failes and his wife Angie of New Bern: a father-in-law and mother-in-law: James and Ann Comstock of Plymouth; a brother-in-law: Donnie Comstock of Plymouth and eight grandchildren: Brandon, Troydeja, Austin, Cherrianne, Christopher and Abby Cooper, Brian and Alex Latham; and Katie Sails.
