February 9, 1942 – February 20, 2021
    Mrs. Nancy Faye Beacham Modlin, aka Sister, Rooster, Grandma, Nanny, and Big Head, age 79, a resident of Woodford, VA and a former resident of Washington, NC died Saturday February 20, 2021 at Falls Run Nursing and Rehab Center in Fredericksburg, VA.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Pastor Jeff Necessary. The family will receive friends at the home her sister: Jackie Congleton located at 613 Barwick Drive, Washington.

    Mrs. Modlin was born in Beaufort county on February 9, 1942, daughter of the late Henry Zebidee Beacham and the late Mary Elizabeth Beacham. On October 26, 1959 she married Harold Glenn Modlin Sr. who preceded her in death on August 6, 1996. When she was visiting her hometown of Washington she attended Peace Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Many will remember her as a warm hearted person.

    Survivors include her children: Harold Glenn Modlin Jr. and his wife Debbie of Hopewell, VA, Betty Modlin Duffie and her husband Watt of Drakes Branch, VA, Mary Jane Stone and her husband Sidney of Woodford, VA and Brenda Bradshaw and her husband Joe of Jarratt, VA.; brothers: Lawrence Beacham and his wife Agnes of Washington, Marshall "Buddy" Beacham and his wife Rose of Littleton, and Kenny Ray Beacham and his wife Linda of Washington; sisters: Jackie Congleton and her husband Eddie of Washington, and Debbie Carrow and her husband Johnny of Chocowinity; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Mrs. Modlin was predeceased along with her parents and husband by a brother: Lee Beacham, and a sister: Virginia "Boot" McGowan.
