Amazon doubles down on censorship | Eastern NC Now

We should shun Amazon

The Big Tech company responsible for taking the free speech social media site Parler offline for several weeks is at it again with another brutal attack on free speech.  This time it is a matter of censoring books, which is a huge concern because 83% of books sold in America are sold by Amazon.  When leftie Jeff Bezos stepped down as Amazon CEO, he was replaced by the head of the division involved in the attack on Parler.

With the Democrat's radical "Equality Act" before Congress, Amazon kicked the book "When Harry became Sally" off its site, even though the book had been there for three years.  The book is written by a medical doctor and does not try to demean those suffering from gender dysphoria.  Nonetheless, the censors at Amazon decreed that it was "hate speech".   The term "hate speech" is an Orwellian term used by haters of free speech. Amazon said it intended to remove other books it deemed "hate speech".

No supporter of free speech should EVER buy anything from Amazon, especially books.  There are other online stores and we should use those.

Amazon crapped in their mess kit with what they did to Parler, and when the truth came out, it was Facebook, not Parler, that the Capitol rioters used to plan. I stopped using Amazon then, but it certainly looks like that was just the first round of their attack on free speech.
