    Mr. Ellis Grey Myers Sr., age 88, a resident of Pantego, NC died Tuesday March 2, 2021 at his home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 6, 2021 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Calvin Tuininga.

    Mr. Myers was born in Beaufort County on February 21, 1933, son of the late Wilbur Fred Myers and the late Geraldine Dunshee Myers. He was a 1951 graduate of Pantego High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On October 13, 1953 he married the love of his life, Hillegonda Van Wyk who survives. He along with his brother, Vernon Myers, was co-owner/operator of Myers Lime Company in Pantego. He was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church of Pantego.

    Surviving along with his wife Hillegonda "Helen" of the home are his children: Ellis G. "Sandy" Myers Jr. (Sandra) of Pantego, David Lambert Myers (Rosa) of Plymouth, Geraldine Faye Guercio (Rich) of Long Island, NY and Brenda Joy Van Vuren (Tony) of Washington; son-in-law: Mark Keyzer of Pantego; a sister: Nellie Logan of Belhaven; thirteen grandchildren: Autumn Wallace (William), Ashley Phelps (Keith), Samantha Carawan (Denton), Hillary Keyzer, Andrea Latham (James), Brittany Quidley (Joey), Heather Myers, Michael Guercio, Angelica Guercio, Luke Van Vuren (Teri), Amber Palmer (Joel), Kalissa Neas, and Austin Van Vuren (Jillian) and eighteen great grandchildren: Nathaniel Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Georgia Carawan, Sullivan Carawan, Damount Harvey, Jr., Kate Latham, Gruer Latham, Cayden Quidley, Hunter Quidley, Nathan Van Vuren, Anna Van Vuren, Timothy Van Vuren, Lydia Van Vuren, Josiah Palmer, Aniya Neas, James Van Vuren, Jackson Van Vuren, and Clara Van Vuren. Mr. Myers was predeceased along with his parents by a daughter: Adrianna Cornelia "Anna" Keyzer; a brother Vernon Myers and a sister: Cora Guthrie.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Terra Ceia Christian School, 4428 Christian School Road, Pantego, NC 27860.
