    Mrs. Carolyn Keech Cuthrell, age 82, a former resident of Aurora, died Friday, March 26, 2021 at her home in Chocowinity.

    Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, 4961 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown. Burial will follow in Yeatesville Cemetery, Pinetown.

    Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Ryan Cuthrell, Brock Cuthrell, Carl Cuthrell, Kevin Champagne, Bruce Dail and Barrett Ellis. Dylan Lewis, Trey Overton, Chad Richards and River Smith will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Mrs. Cuthrell was born in Beaufort County on June 20, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Albert Joseph Keech and Madeline Wilson Keech. Mrs. Cuthrell was a homemaker. She was a member of Edwards Christian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and taught Children's Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Cuthrell loved gardening, fishing and cooking for her children.

    On April 11, 1959, she married Floyd Shelton Cuthrell, who preceded her in death, December 16, 2013.

    Mrs. Cuthrell is survived by her children, Russell Lee Cuthrell of Aurora, Floyd Shelton Cuthrell, Jr. and wife, Sandy of Aurora, Van Wayne Cuthrell and wife, Viea of Simpson, Melody Carol Dail and husband, Bruce of Snow Hill, Jo Ann Smith and husband, Allan of Chocowinity; sister, Eleanor Cutler of Jacksonville, FL; sixteen grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Cuthrell, Verina Carol Rohrs, Julie Ann Cuthrell, Brock Cuthrell, Erica Overton, Ryan Cuthrell, Carl Cuthrell, Meagan Richards, Natalie Cuthrell, Kristina Champagne, Kevin Champagne, Kayla Dail, Bruce Dail, Ashlyn Lewis, Dylan Lewis, River Smith and Adam Lewis and 22 great grandchildren.

    In addition, her parents and husband, Mrs. Cuthrell was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Jean Keech, Albert Joseph Keech, Jr., sister, Betty Keech Whitley, and granddaughter, Kylea Dunn.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, March 29, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at her home, 600 Langley Road, Chocowinity.

    The family would like to thank Brandy Nobles, Victoria Hamilton and "Miss Velva" with Community Home Care and Hospice for their care and compassion.
