No Vicious Democrat Ad Goes Unanswered | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: This exacting retort to a vicious Democrat Party ad, recently published in the Bertie Ledger, was sent to me by BCN mainstay contributor, Diane Rufino, and appears here courtesy with the permission of the author, Garry Terry.

A commentary of Mr. Terry's opinon, by Diane Rufino, follows his first post in BCN.

Responding to an ad in last Wednesday’s Bertie Ledger that was critical of the Republican Party, I’d like to thank the gentleman who wrote it, because the insulting rhetoric and lies prove something that many people are now beginning to realize. And that is, the Democrat Party can’t run on its record of accomplishments. It can’t run on its record of high unemployment, skyrocketing gas prices, unnecessary regulations, higher taxes, massive federal deficits, corruption in the Attorney General’s office and an ever expanding EPA that is crippling America’s ability to produce affordable energy and therefore destroying even more jobs.

The paid political ad that attempts to smear the Republican Party is full of divisive hate speech, but there is one thing missing: real solutions to our problems and practical policies that will create a business friendly environment and create jobs.

It’s easy to continue to blame former President Bush for everything wrong in this country, but sooner or later the Democrat Party must take responsibility for its actions and failed policies. The language in this ad is toxic and divisive, but it offers no hope to people who are looking for a job.

It’s easy to hurl insults, but real leadership is bringing people together, rather than trying to divide just to win the next election.

If policies of the Democrat Party were so great, why is Bertie County still one of the poorest counties in the state? Until Republicans won huge victories in 2010, Democrats have controlled the political machine of this state for over 130 years.

The differences between Democrats and Republicans have never been clearer.

The Democrat Party has taken a hard left turn, and I want no part of it.

If standing up for the Biblical definition of marriage, constitutional government, a strong military, a business climate that lets the private sector flourish and create jobs, cheap energy, sound government and fiscal responsibility make me all of things that you used in the language of that ad, so be it.

Those of you who would take away my rights, tax me to death in order to spread the wealth around and lie, cheat and steal the next election will be defeated in November by the very people that put you in office.

We have a president that does not believe in the greatness of America and will cede our sovereignty to the UN.

The blood of many American Patriots has been shed for this nation to remain free of tyranny.

Your policies have failed, and I haven’t degraded anyone, by saying it. America has begun to realize that calling names and blaming someone else is not going to fix anything.

There is too much hate in this nation. Those of you who instill hate should spend time studying the history of this nation.

Your own words are all anyone needs to hear to see that your only goal is winning an election and staying in power.

Our goal is to restore America to a land of opportunity for all.

About Garry Terry's estimable retort     by Diane Rufino

We are witnessing the Democrats trying to bend the voting rules to suit their plans, putting in place possible schemes to abuse voting rights and commit possible fraud, using the US DOJ to prevent state Voter ID laws from going into effect, using the force of government to register those on social security's disability programs, and in general, using Politics of Ignorance (such as the letter in Bertie County and the ads on TV hinting Romney had something to do with an elderly woman's death - even though factually, there is no possible link because he left Bain Capital long before she was diagnosed). Are we just beginning to see the tip of the iceburg?

Sunday Voting may not seem like a big thing to many. But it represents a political party looking for ways, outside the ordinary, acceptable, unbiased, neutral, schemes to get out the vote. Its opposition to Voter ID laws is an even bigger issue. They don't have a problem at all with voter fraud. They are more concerned with the fact that a single minority voter might be disenfranchised (an allegation that has since not produced any bit of proof. Supreme Court Justice Stevens even acknowledged this) than they are over the countless other voters who will be disenfranchised by those who vote illegally and fraudulently. The Democrats want special accommodations for their groups to vote (this is, in essense, the very language they use in their requests for Sunday Voting) - in fact, breaking traditional rules and observations - or, as they claim, their voters will be disenfranchised. Yet they also want to destroy the accommodations that Republicans need to ensure the integrity of their votes. The disenfranchisement of Republica   n votes is no concern to them.

It would certainly be an injustice if a citizen loses his or her voice in the election process (especially if that citizen is a taxpayer) because of someone who has voted illegally or fraudulently. Equally as offensive is the occasion where a person is prevented from voting because of unfair hurdles. But we have seen overwhelming evidence of the former and none of the latter. The latter is merely conjecture and hypotheticals.

A party that can't seem to accomplish its goals like everyone else, by playing according to the same rules, by agreeing to common-sense neutral safeguards, would seem to have dubious, unethical intentions.

We need to encourage all our members to get engaged and counter these efforts to "steal" the upcoming election. Let's be creative. Let's be pro-active. But more than anything else, let's be energetic, focused, and aggressive.

We need to get our members to register online with their county board of elections to become (paid) poll workers and (unpaid) poll volunteers to watch and document for fraud. We then need to get these workers and volunteers trained on scenarios that allow for voter fraud. The NC Voter Integrity Project will gladly train them. (Jay Delancy - jay.delancy@gmail.com)

Let's call Democrats out, like this pea-brain buffoon who wrote the article in the Bertie County paper. Let's repost his article, make him the poster child of the Democrats' "Politics of Igorance," start setting the record straight, and start fighting back.
