Dallas James Spain, Jr., age 35, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday June 30, 2021 at his home.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 3, 2021 at the Spain Family Cemetery located at 242 Spain Drive, Washington. The service will be officiated by Garret Saul. Pallbearers will be Buddy Spain, Edward Potter, Ray Wainwright, Lee Modlin and Carlos Tetterton, Jr.
Dallas was born in Beaufort County on January 8, 1987, son of Dallas J. Spain, Sr. who survives and the late Lisa Christine Murdock. He was a graduate of Bath High School. Dallas was a welder for Proseal, Inc. of Wilmington, a construction contractor, working at Weyerhauser in New Bern. He loved nature and enjoyed boating and hunting.
Survivors include his father and stepmother: Dallas, J. Spain, Sr., and Kimberly Spain of Washington; children: Jaden Spain of Chocowinity, Linleigh Spain of Washington, and Alex Spain of Chocowinity; a brother: Alex Spain (Samantha) of Washington; sisters: LeAnn Paul (Emmanuel), Sarah Elks (Charles), Macy Parker (Zach), McCray Guthrie (Cody), and Amanda Wallace of Kinston; and maternal grandmother: Edith Mason of Washington. Dallas was predeceased by his mother: Lisa Murdock Spain; maternal grandfather: Jimmy Murdock; and paternal grandparents: Elton and Minnie Spain.
