Beaufort County's Health Department, EOC staff and our various county partners continue to monitor and respond to COVID-19. Over the past week, our county has experienced an increase in positive cases, averaging 14 new cases per day, a level that was last seen at the end of February. These new cases are attributed to the Delta variant, and involve unvaccinated people and/or people who have not previously contracted COVID-19.
As a result of this increase in daily cases, our EOC will be publishing an abbreviated daily update of Beaufort County statistics for your situational awareness Monday–Friday. These abbreviated updates will continue until metrics return to levels comparable to those experienced between March and July.
Our full weekly updates will continue to be published as previously scheduled. (Friday Evenings / Saturday Mornings) This update can also be viewed using the following link: Beaufort County NC COVID Surveillance
