    O'Brien Edwards died peacefully on August 12th in Winston Salem, North Carolina of natural causes.

    He was born on June 26th, 1934, to the late Elmer Lacy Edwards and Amanda Jones Edwards. O'Brien was a 1952 graduate of Chocowinity High School in Chocowinity, North Carolina. He graduated from East Carolina University in 1956, majoring in Physical Education and History, and was chosen into the Who's Who Among Students in Colleges and Universities. O'Brien was also on the very first track team at East Carolina. After graduation, he joined the United States Army in 1957 where he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. O'Brien joined Broyhill Furniture in Lenoir, NC in April of 1965 and served in numerous sales positions over a 41-year span. He calculated having attended over 150 furniture markets all over the country. His favorite place to stay was his beach house he built at Sunset Beach NC in 1977, reading various historical books and spending time with his grandchildren. O'Brien is a past member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Durham North Carolina.

    O'Brien's longtime sweetheart of 61 years, Jill Sutton Edwards of Greensboro, N.C., passed away in November 2020. O'Brien is survived by three children, Edmond O'Brien Edwards, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, (spouse: Rosemary Thompson Edwards), Roslyn Edwards Foreman of Huddleston, Virginia (spouse: Ben Foreman), Barbara Lynn Edwards Rozenboom of High Point, NC (spouse: Doug Rozenboom). Surviving grandchildren include: Hank and Bill Foreman of Charlotte, NC, Thomas Edwards, Pasadena, California, (engaged to Chandler Williams) Sarah Adams of Knightdale, NC (spouse: John Adams) Carter and Hollie Rozenboom of High Point, NC, and his sister Frankie of Chocowinity, NC.

    The family wishes to thank Heritage Greens in Greensboro, NC for their incredible support.

    In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

    Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Paul Funeral Home & Crematory, with a service at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington NC, August 21st at 11:00 am.
