Daisy Yvonne Midyette, age 77, a resident of Washington, NC passed away in the early hours of Sunday, August 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

    Daisy Yvonne Midyette, age 77, a resident of Washington, NC passed away in the early hours of Sunday, August 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and four daughters, along with others family.

    Yvonne was born September 7, 1943 to Willaim "Bill" Whitley and Leona Drake Whitley in Wilson County, NC. She was later raised in Farmville, NC after marrying her husband Edward Glenn Midyette on September 29, 1962, she resided the rest of her life in Washington, NC.

    A celebration of life service will be held 2:30 pm, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Joseph B. Paul, Jr. / Washington Funeral & Cremation. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    Yvonne spent all of her adult life being a wonderful, caring and devoted wife and mother. A selfless woman not only to her own family, but to so many others. Through the years many children became like her own. As our family was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren her heart was overfilled with more love. Yvonne was an incredible woman and she will be immensely missed by many...hold on to the memories. "How lucky it is to have someone so wonderful that it makes saying goodbye so hard". She is a member of the former Rosedale Baptist Church of Washington, NC.

    Through the years she held many jobs, retiring from the Department of Social Service as an In Home Health Aid. Through her dedication of this job, she developed a special bond with many of her clients and their families.

    Yvonne is survived by her husband, Edward Glenn Midyette of the home. Her children: Debbie Woolard and husband Chubby, Kathy "Midyette" Melton, Dee May and husband Lloyd all of Washington, NC, Cindy Wallace and husband Octavus and stepson, William (Billy) Midyette all of Pinetown, NC, two granddaughters, two grandsons, three great granddaughters and one great grandson. Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, Ben Walston, stepsister, Zarelda Walston Fambrough and a stepson, Ronnie Midyette.

    The family would like to express special thanks to Kendrid Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care through this journey.
