Police in Voralburg region demand government reversal

ENCNow

Police officers in the Voralburg region have published a letter demanding that the national government reverse its lockdown and vaccine mandate policies, saying they are a threat to "social order". The officers come from both sides of the political spectrum and demanded that the government "restore social peace, end the division between the population, and to give back personal responsibility to the Austrian people."

Vienna's leading newspaper, the Kronen Zeitung, described the situation with the police across parts of the country as "extremely tense" with threats being made to officers for refusing to enforce the government mandates.
