Left-wing political and cultural commentators were upset Tuesday night when Republicans swept key races in Virginia.

The most outrageous reactions included accusations of racism against Virginia voters and specific charges of "white supremacy."

Notably, however, Republican Winsome Sears defeated Democrat Hala Ayala for lieutenant governor to become the first black woman to hold office statewide in Virginia, Republican Jason Miyares defeated sitting Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring to become the state's first Latino AG, and Republican Glenn Youngkin upset Democrat favorite Terry McAuliffe in the gubernatorial race, replacing Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam, who was reportedly photographed in his medical school yearbook in either blackface or a KKK outfit - it was never determined which.

Bringing in perhaps the most blunt out-there tweet was Jemele Hill, who predictably railed at "white supremacy" for the rejection of the Democrat agenda.

"It's not the messaging, folks," she wrote. "This country simply loves white supremacy."

Rutgers associate professor Brittney Cooper echoed Hill: "White supremacy is indefatigable. That truth is both personal and political this week. Long way of saying I'm tired."

Singer Cher posted a bizarre message calling the GOP Nazis.

"White women voters are footsoldiers of white supremacist patriarchy," said feminist writer Mona Eltahawy. "In their majority they voted GOP long before Trump because they benefit from white supremacy and they undergird right-wing populism - as voters and candidates. #Election2021."

Podcast host Kimberley Johnson blamed "white supremacy," too.

"The fact this VA election is close... Youngkin offered no political strategy, he ran on Trumpism, on banning CRT from grade school even though they don't teach it in grade school[.] It's all racism. White supremacy is ugly," she posted, later adding, "White supremacy is so ugly and watching so many white people defend it, fight for it, or just accept it because they don't feel personally affected by it makes my stomach churn."

"Anti-Racism expert" Leslie Mac tweeted that the U.S. is "committed to white supremacy. Its important to say the things." She was responding to a tweet that said, "Gonna be wall-to-wall critical race theory and cancel culture for the next couple of years because we're that deranged and dimwitted."

Blogger Olivia A. Cole took aim at white women, specifically. "White women are thrilled to have a cause in our lane that we can throw ourselves behind," she posted. "CRT-panic in which we can wring our hands about white children and obfuscate our white supremacy? This is what white women have done best since the '50s and will continue to do."

Soraya Nadia McDonald, a culture critic for The Undefeated, wrote, "white supremacy got that ultimate snapback folks got a tiiiiiiiiny glimpse into what it would take to right this ship and they chose their own comfort. Again."

Radio host Dean Obeidallah said: "Republican voters are not excited by the issue of 'Education.' Republican voters are excited by the issue of WHITE SUPREMACY."

Obeidallah argued that the media was too helpful to Youngkin, as well as, you guessed it, "white supremacy."

"Various reasons for Glenn Youngkin's 'win' in Virginia [include]: 1. White supremacy is still very powerful but people want it in coded language while wearing a fleece 2. Media hammered Dems but gave Youngkin a pass on racist 'Critical race theory' 3. Dems better counter the CRT BS!"
