REPORT: Fox News Star Was Up For ‘The View’ Gig, But Was Nixed Because She Won’t Get Vaxxed | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Fox News contributor Lisa Marie Boothe was reportedly a contender to replace Meghan McCain as the token conservative on left-wing talkshow "The View" but was nixed as an option since she will not get vaccinated against COVID-19.

    The Daily Beast reported Tuesday that a source confirmed "Boothe interviewed with ABC News and The View executives earlier this year," but "[t]hose conservations ended, this person with knowledge of the situation said, after the conservative pundit made clear to the network that she will not get any of the required jabs against the coronavirus."

    "An ABC News source confirmed to The Daily Beast that the network had conversations with Boothe, among 'dozens and dozens' of candidates," the report continued. "The show never had an opportunity to offer her a guest-hosting spot or book a potential date. And once Boothe's stance on vaccinations became apparent, the source said, further conversation became a 'moot point' and a 'non-starter' due to the network's strict policies."

    Boothe - who is consistently conservative, unlike almost all past options for co-hosts on "The View" - has been vocal about her opposition to lockdown measures since the start of the pandemic, and has made it public that she has chosen to bypass getting vaccinated, "as a healthy 36-year-old woman."

    Back in November, Boothe wrote an op-ed for Newsweek aptly titled, "Why I'm Not Vaccinated." The column is her pinned post on Twitter.

    "I am not vaccinated. In a sane society, a personal decision like this would not warrant a column, or even an explanation. But we do not live in a sane society," Boothe wrote in the column. "As a healthy 36-year-old woman, COVID-19 does not pose a statistically meaningful threat to my life. I have a 99.97 percent chance of survival. Why would I get a vaccine for a virus that I do not fear and that isn't a threat to my life-particularly when there is an element of risk from the vaccines?"

    Boothe did not respond when The Daily Wire reached out for comment on the report, but the conservative has made her opposition to vaccine mandates and lockdown measures clear.

    "I understand why people don't want to get COVID," she posted this week. "It sucks, but it's just so contagious it's kind of inevitable. How much of society do you want to destroy for something you are likely going to get no matter what precautions you take?"

    "At what point does everyone admit that we can't stop COVID? It's impossible. It's part of our lives now," reads another recent post.

    "I really enjoy telling people to get bent lately," Boothe posted Monday. "It makes me laugh to myself when I say it."

    "What is the point of mandating a vaccine that doesn't stop the spread of COVID?" she questioned.

    Notably, Boothe has already had the virus, building up natural immunity to COVID.
