    Mrs. Jacqueline Craig Lee Newberry, age 86, a resident of River Road, Washington, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

    Private graveside services will be held.

    Mrs. Newberry was born in Beaufort County on March 11, 1935. She was the daughter of the late George Noah "Jack" Lee and Delsie Magdalene Craig Lee. Mrs. Newberry was a homemaker. She was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed oil painting. Mrs. Newberry was an accomplished seamstress, cartoonist, and animal lover.

    Mrs. Newberry was married to Henry Clifton Newberry, who preceded her in death.

    Mrs. Newberry is survived by two daughters, Susan Hardison of Bath, Teresa S. Weaver of Carolina Beach; three grandchildren, Joshua Hardison of Plymouth, Katherine Hardison Hosey and husband, Alan of Bath, Molly Hardison Brickhouse and husband, Samuel Brickhouse IV; and six great grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Hosey, Brianna May Hosey, Ava Grace Hosey, Delilah June Hosey, Samuel Brickhouse V, and Isaac Thomas Brickhouse.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Newberry was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmund Varner Lee, Jr., Henry Hyrum Toler: and her son in law, Bryant Hardison.
