Margaret Ann Tyer Nixon | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Margaret Ann Tyer Nixon, age 73, a resident of U.S. Highway 264 East, Belhaven, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

    Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 at Yeatesville Cemetery, Pinetown, conducted by Pastor David Pierce.

    Mrs. Nixon was born in Beaufort County on February 12, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Thurman Earl Tyer, Sr. and Mary Cox Tyer. Mrs. Nixon was a retired CNA with Autumnfield. She was a member of the Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Nixon enjoyed doing volunteer work, word search puzzles and watching soap operas.

    Mrs. Nixon was married to Jackie Perry Nixon, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2010.

    Mrs. Nixon is survived by her children, Tammy Paul and husband, Jay of Bath, Pam Riley and husband, Chuck of Rising Sun, MD, Jason Nixon and wife, Kristie of Pinetown; grandchildren, Kayla Burbage and husband, Gray, Mallory Paul, Tyler Paul, Austin Riley, Marina Riley; step grandchildren, Mariah Edwards, Jensen Hawkins; great grandchild, Addison Burbage; sister, Mary Lou Nixon and husband, Gerald and brothers, Jimmy Tyer and wife, Marilyn, and Thurman Tyer.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, N.C. 27889
