‘You Will Live To Regret This’: Jordan Peterson Blasts Ottawa Mayor Maligning Truckers’ Convoy | Eastern North Carolina Now

On Tuesday, famed Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, the best-selling author of "12 Rules For Life" and a staunch backer of the Freedom Convoy, slammed Ottawa, Canada, mayor Jim Watson for maligning the convoy as he claimed that an arson attempt weekend at an apartment building in the city "clearly demonstrates the malicious intent of these protesters occupying our city"

Peterson tweeted that Watson exhibited "wilful blindness at best, outright maliciousness at worst," adding, "You will live to regret this."

Watson stated during a Monday council meeting, "What was initially described as a peaceful protest has now turned into a siege of our downtown area. ... This declaration serves noticed to our residents that we will do everything in our power to take back the streets of Ottawa from the criminal activity and hooliganism that has transpired the last nine days. Initially this was labeled a protest against the public health policies that the democratically elected governments at the provincial and federal levels have enacted to protect us from the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. But sadly, the demonstration has turned into an aggressive and hateful occupation of our neighborhoods which has absolutely nothing to do with the truckers' quarrel with vaccine mandates enacted by the governments of Ontario and Canada."

"Yesterday we learned of a horrific story that clearly demonstrates the malicious intent of these protesters occupying our city," he continued. "At 5 a.m., and this was captured on the building's video, on Sunday morning, two young men entered the lobby of the building on Lisgar St. where they proceeded to light fire starter bricks near the elevators before taping up the door handles so residents would struggle to get out during a fire."

"Thankfully, no one was hurt, but this story could have ended very, very differently," Watson declared. "It's extremely disturbing and points to a desire to harm our residents, an obvious criminal intent, which I know the Ottawa police arson unit is now investigating. I cannot stress this enough and I hope this message gets through to the truckers: The lives of individual, innocent people are at stake right now, right here. This occupation must cease right away."

Before the convoy reached Ottawa, Peterson noted on January 24, "The legacy media reports on the (minimal? Who knows?) opposition to the trucker's convoy but I can find almost nothing on the unprecedented protest itself. Unbelievable."

On Monday night, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted, "Canadians have the right to protest, to disagree with their government, and to make their voices heard. We'll always protect that right. But let's be clear: They don't have the right to blockade our economy, or our democracy, or our fellow citizens' daily lives. It has to stop."

Peterson fired back, "Then stop. Puppet. Now. What's your end game @JustinTrudeau? Lay it out."

Later Monday night, Peterson responded to a scathing attack from a member of the Canadian Parliament on the Trudeau government by tweeting, "How about a plan puppet @JustinTrudeau? How about a deadline? How about an endgame? How about anything concrete instead of endless thoughtless denunciation?"
