Beasley Prioritizes Socialist Wish List Over North Carolinians | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

    Good afternoon,

Cheri Beasley admitted yesterday that she would vote to spend billions on a bill that she claims would help North Carolina workers, but she couldn't be more wrong. Instead, the COMPETES Act would waste more hard-earned taxpayer dollars at a time when North Carolinians are struggling just to buy basic necessities.

The COMPETES Act would be better known as the "CONCEDES" Act because it concedes to China and puts the United States in a weaker position to combat the Biden-induced inflation crisis. The legislation has nothing to do with competing against China and is more about completing a growing Democrat wish-list from the radical Left.

Here's a look at what Beasley is supporting when she says "the Senate must pass the COMPETES Act:

  • Adhering to the disastrous Paris Climate Accords.
  • Weak oversight of Confuscious Institutes.
  • $2 billion a year to foreign countries.
  • $8 billion to a "green energy slush fund" for the United Nations.
  • $22 million to investigate the collapse of a building in Florida.
  • $6 million to create a National Coral Reef Fellowship program.
  • $5 million to create a Chief Diversity Officer at the National Science Foundation.

"Cheri Beasley doesn't care about competing against China or strengthening our economy. Instead, by supporting the COMPETES Act, she's proving that she only cares about keeping her liberal benefactors happy at the expense of North Carolina's families, workers and small business owners."- RNC Spokeswoman Alex Nolley
