    Mrs. Jeanne Marie Lewis Bonner, age 61, a resident of Aurora, NC died Friday February 25, 2022, at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.

    A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday March 4, 2022, at Edward Christian Church officiated by Pastor David Linton, Sr. Burial will follow in Oakhaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Niethhammer, Carl Bonner, Patrick Baker, Steve Carrow, Keith Baker and Wayne Sawyer.

    The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday March 3, 2022, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Mrs. Bonner was born in Beaufort County on June 30, 1960, daughter of the late Hyman Willis Lewis and the Margaret Jennette Walker Rowe. She attended Pamlico Community School until it closed. She received a GED from Lenoir Community College, where she then continued and graduated with honors with an associate degree in Applied Science in Court Reporting. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Beta Lambda. On January 5, 1980, she married the love of her life, Donald Lee Bonner who survives. Her working career consisted of being a free lance court reporter, a legal secretary, and at the time of her death she was the secretary at Edward Christian Church. Mrs. Bonner loved sewing, crochet, and crafts.

    Surviving along with her husband Don of the home are daughters: Marina Kay Bonner Gold (Jordan) of Edward and Sierra Bonner Riddle (John) of Macon, NC; grandson: Liam Jackson Gold of Edward; her mother: Margaret Jennette Rowe of Chocowinity; sisters: Pamela Kay Walker Westbrook (Dewayne) of Aurora, Patricia Ann Lewis of Chocowinity; brothers-in-law: Bill Bonner, Jr and Dewayne Westbrook; sister-in-law: Angela B Crane (Russell) of Clearwater, FL; step-mother: Faye Lewis of Aurora and cousins Wesley & Tere Potter of Bridgton, and Karen Lupton Cannon of Hampton, VA. Mrs. Bonner was preceded in death by her father: Hyman Willis Lewis; her Step-father: Thomas Rowe and her father and mother in law: Billy & Dorothy Bonner.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Edward Christian Church, P.O. Box 67, Edward, NC 27821.
