    Mr. Adam Warren Burton, age 55, a resident of River Road, Washington NC, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022.

    Mr. Burton was born in Norfolk, VA. On April 1, 1966. He was the son of the late Gary Warren Burton and Clara Marie Yancey Burton. Mr. Burton graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk in 1984. He was a print press mechanic for the Virginia Pilot newspaper for 31 years. Later, he moved to Washington NC and worked at Zaxby's. Mr. Burton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norfolk. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and also enjoyed working with cars and car stereos.

    Mr. Burton is survived by his two sisters, Teresa Gail Burton Callahan (Kevin) of Chesapeake, VA, Maryanne Grace Jefferson (Linwood) of Washington NC; an Aunt, Linda Yancey of Chesapeake, VA; an Uncle, George Yancey of Texas; five nieces, Olivia Callahan, Raegan Callahan, Taylor Callahan, Logan Callahan, Rebecca Stowasser; and a nephew, Shaun Jefferson; and cousins, Maria Yancey Furey and Jonathan Lindsay.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local SPCA.

    Two celebration luncheons have been scheduled. The first will be at Zaxby's in Washington NC on 6 March where he worked. The second will be held at Gus and Georges Restaurant at 4312 Virginia Beach Boulevard in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 12 March from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
