Anita “Neder” Gray Tuten | Eastern NC Now

    Anita "Neder" Gray Tuten, Age 65 a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Thursday March 3, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday March 8, 2022 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Rev. Bobby Owens. Pallbearers will be Jaevious Burney, David Jefferson, John Colbert, Jr., TJ Jones, Reginald Moore, Ricky Berry, Gary Lilley, and Joshawn Dejesus.

    Anita was born in Beaufort County on February 25, 1957 to the late Roy Franklin Tuten, Sr., and Alma Gray Rowe. Anita was the best sister ever, sometimes a little stubborn. She was very obedient to our parents. Anita was very kind, quiet and humble. She always lent out her helping hands for anyone, especially her family. She was a very hard worker, in her home, also with her employees. Anita was employed at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Chocowinity. She was a nursing assistant for a lot of years then to private duty nursing. Her last employer was Hardees. She was a graduate of Chocowinity High School in 1977. Anita enjoyed hook rugs, word find books and yard work.

    Survivors include her three sisters, Karen Tetterton of Chocowinity, Sue T. Davis of Pantego, Joanne Tuten of Chocowinity and numerous nieces and nephews that she was a second mother to.

    She is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald M. Tuten and Roy F. Tuten, Jr.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday March 7, 2022 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
