Is Latvia next on Putin's target list? | Eastern NC Now

Latvia is the third EU country and the first NATO country to be targeted for threats from the Putin regime.  The Kremlin's false rants about Latvia being "neo-Nazi" is chillingly similar to Putin's false rants about Ukraine prior to the invasion.  In reality, Latvia, unlike the fascist Putin regime in Russia, is a functioning democratic republic.

The Putin regime has also threatened neutral Sweden and Finland, demanding they declare they will not join NATO or they could be attacked.  That threat backfired, as since it was made, both countries have been moving to join NATO.  Witnessing Russia's aggression against neutral Ukraine has made neutrality not so appealing. Finland was attacked by Stalin in 1939 and like Ukraine today had a much smaller army with a lot less equipment but they inflicted massive losses in men and equipment on the Soviets.  One of the inventions of the Finns in that war was the Molotov cocktail.

Latvia has already been a target of Russian ally Belarus trying to flood them with illegal alien migrants from the Third World.

Meanwhile more arms are flowing to help Ukraine defend itself against the Russian invasion.  The Czech Republic has delivered armored personnel carriers, self propelled howitzers and 12 T-72 main battle tanks.  Australia has sent a shipment of infantry fighting vehicles.  Slovakia has sent a potent S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.  Poland has pledged to send upgraded T-72 tanks.  The UK is sending armored fighting vehicles, high velocity anti-ship missiles, and their high velocity Starstreak anti-aircraft missile systems.

Putin's forces are targeting civilians in eastern Ukraine as the Ukrainian government urges them to flee to avoid the Russian attrocities like those in Bucha.  In Kramorsk, two Russian missiles hit the train station which was the gathering point for civilian evacuation, killing 52 civilians including 5 children and wounding 109.  On one of the misslile bodies a Russian message "for the children" could still be read.
