Eleanor Rae "Ellie" Gladding | Eastern NC Now

    Eleanor Rae "Ellie" Gladding, age 95, a resident of 102 Forecastle Ct., Washington, NC, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at River Trace Nursing Center of Washington.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date.

    Mrs. Gladding was born in Boston, MA on May 12, 1917, daughter of the late Arthur B. and Ingrid N. Rae. She married Nathaniel Austin Gladding, Jr. who preceded her in death on August 27, 1996. Mrs. Gladding was a school teacher having taught at schools in many states. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Washington.

    Mrs. Gladding is survived by a son: Nathaniel Austin Gladding, III and his wife Glynda of Washington; two grandsons: Nat Gladding and his wife Leysi of Pinetown and Mat Gladding and his wife Poncie of Norfolk, VA and three great-grandchildren: Natalie Gladding, Austin Gladding and Matthew Gladding. She was predeceased by a brother: Arthur A. Rae.

    The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Gladding's son, Nathaniel Gladding, 102 Forecastle Ct., Washington, NC.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to the charity of one's choice.
