   James W. Williams, 63, of Winterville, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at home.

   A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private.

   Mr. Williams, a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, was a graduate of Winterville High School. He was employed with Proctor & Gamble as a sales manager, retiring in 2001. Following his retirement, he operated a small business. He was a member of St. Paul’s Pentecostal Holiness Church. James was also affiliated with the Unidos por Cristo Methodist congregation in Grimesland.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Roy O. Williams and Kathleen H. Williams.

   He is survived by his: wife of 14 years, Tamara Hower Williams; sons, David Williams and wife, Jennifer, of Grimesland, and their children, Kensleigh, Carter and Kate, Matthew Williams and wife, Kim, and their daughters, Jenna and Keely, and Michael Williams, and his daughter, Michaela, all of Winterville; brothers, Rev. Roy Lindsay Williams and wife, Barbara, of Raleigh, Ormond E. Williams and wife, Peggy, Rev. Bobby T. Williams and wife, Anne, and Terry L. Williams and wife, Carolyn, all of Chocowinity and a special cousin, Donnie Hardee and wife, Mary, of Ayden. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
