    Mr. Jacob Kevin Mobley, age 42, a resident of Richlands, NC, died Saturday, May 21, 2022.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the home of his parents: Paul and Jackie Mobley located at 1170 John Mobley Road, Williamston, 27892. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church, located at 8000 Bear Grass Road, Robersonville, 27871. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tom Boehm from Nikiski, Alaska.

    The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday.

    Jacob was born in Pitt County on February 12, 1980, to Leslie Paul Mobley and Jackie Lee Mobley of Bear Grass, NC. During his youth he was active in Bear Grass Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop 218 and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He became a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Williamston, NC, during his teen years and served on several World Changers Youth Mission trips. After graduating from Bear Grass High School in 1998, he entered the United States Marine Corps where he served five years as an avionics electrician until his honorable discharge in 2003. On October 6, 2007, he married the former Lisa Ann Dunn. He was currently working as an electronic technician with NIWC who contracts with the U.S. Government. Jacob loved woodworking, cooking campfire recipes, playing the banjo, and playing disc golf with his brothers and friends.

    Surviving along with his wife Lisa of Swansboro are his parents: L. Paul Mobley and Jackie Lee Mobley, both of Bear Grass; his children: Caleb Henry Greyson Mobley of Swansboro, Katelyn Leeann Chavis of Swansboro, and Matthew Tyler Chavis of Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville; his brothers: Tim Mobley (Maryann) of Tucson, AZ, Joshua Mobley of Richlands, NC, and Brandon Mobley (Betsy) of Tucson, AZ; his sisters: Autumn Forbes (Wayne) of Bear Grass, NC, and Charity Littlefield (Craig) of Winterville, NC; and his grandmother, Edna Lucille Mobley of Bear Grass, NC. He has thirteen nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Jacob was always thinking of others and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to help others. He was kind, generous, considerate, compassionate, fun to be around, and always gave his mama the last hug. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
