Mrs. Laura Marie Seremak Klas | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Laura Marie Seremak Klas, age 92, a resident of 110 Slatestone Dr., Washington, NC, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at her home.

    Funeral mass services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and will be conducted by Father Arturo Cabra. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at St. Stanislaus RC Cemetery in Buffalo, New York.

Mrs. Klas was born in Buffalo, New York on January 10, 1920, to the late George and Antonia Seremak. On August 9, 1947, she married Walter S. Klas who preceded her in death on May 5, 1993. She was employed with Trico Products from 1949 until 1985 and served in the Woman's Air Corp. Mrs. Klas was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.

    Survivors include one son, Gerald W. Klas of Washington and special friend, Darlene Ormond of Bath, one grandson, Garrett W. Klas of Raleigh, one brother, Jerome Seremak of Chicago, IL and one sister, Mary Wlodarczyk of Rochester, NY. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Genevieve Smosna, Dorothy Rataj and one brother, Thaddeus Seremak.

    The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Valerie Shackleford, Doris Clemmons, Gail Norris, Marisha Pierce and Marian Pierce.

    Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Building Fund, 112 W. 9th St., Washington, NC 27889.
