Parents rights and school choice won by a wide margin in the Republican primary for State School Superintendent in South Carolina.  Ellen Weaver, a former aide to former conservative US Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) and currently president of a conservative education think tank won with 63% of the vote against the handpicked choice of the outgoing GOP Superintendent who was endorsed by the teachers unions.  Weaver ran on parents rights, school choice, and opposing radical curriculums.
