Famed podcast host Joe Rogan threw his weight behind potential 2024 presidential contender Ron DeSantis, the current Republican governor of Florida, during his show on Tuesday where he also praised The Daily Wire and "f***ing brilliant" Ben Shapiro.

Rogan made the remarks as he interviewed actress Gina Carano who starred in The Daily Wire's newest hit film "Terror on the Prairie."

"It's very interesting because what [The Daily Wire is] doing is they're creating a right-wing alternative to, they're doing stand up comedy, they're doing podcasts, they're doing all these different things and Ben's a pretty f***ing brilliant guy," Rogan said. "It's really interesting like as a business model like there is a market for that. People are tired of being spoon fed one ideology."

At a different point in the podcast, Rogan was asked by Carano, "Are you throwing out any support towards anyone or are you going to hold off and- didn't Elon Musk come out recently for DeSantis?"

"Yeah, I think Ron DeSantis would work as a good president. I think, I mean, what he's done for Florida has been admirable," Rogan said. "I feel like what he did for Florida, a lot of people gave him a lot of grief, but ultimately, he was correct. He was correct when it comes to like deaths. He was correct when it comes to protecting our vulnerable populations. He was correct in terms of distribution of monoclonal antibodies, and he was furious when the government tried to pull those, they were trying to pull very effective treatments."

"You know, he is not perfect, he's a human being," he continued. "But what he's done is stand up for freedoms and people think that, there's some weird gaslighting s*** that went on where people equated freedom and saying the word freedom to like right wing bigotry and hate, it is so strange."

Carano's remarks about Musk comes after Musk threw his weight behind DeSantis earlier this month after he revealed that he "voted for Mayra Flores - first time I ever voted Republican."

"Massive red wave in 2022," Musk tweeted.

When asked online who he was leaning toward supporting for the 2024 presidential election, Musk responded, "DeSantis."

"I supported Yang last time, but DeSantis has a better chance of winning," Musk later added.

Musk recently doubled down on supporting the Republican Party for the upcoming midterms because of how Democrats have treated him.

"I support free speech, but not any one candidate," Musk wrote on Twitter. "In fact, I gave money to & voted for Hillary & then voted for Biden. However, given unprovoked attacks by leading Democrats against me & a very cold shoulder to Tesla & SpaceX, I intend to vote Republican in November."

Musk stated in May that he would vote Republican in the upcoming election despite having "voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically."

"Like I'm not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear," Musk said. "Now this election I will."
