Matters are escalating in the Netherlands as farmers fight the government to save their livlihoods from draconian climate rules that would put a third of them out of business in a country that is the world's fifth largest food exporter. Shots have been fired by police at farmers, while the farmers have acquired a tank to help block food distribution centers. Fishermen have launched a sympathy protest, using their boats to block harbors. Shelfs are becoming bare of some items in grocery stores.
