Elon Musk dismissed the notion of former President Donald Trump running for office again in 2024 with Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as his running mate, saying that Trump was too old and that DeSantis would wipe the floor with Democrat President Joe Biden in an election.

Musk's remarks come as he has faced increased attacks from the former president despite stating publicly that he does not hate Trump.

"I don't hate the man, but it's time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset," Musk tweeted. "Dems should also call off the attack - don't make it so that Trump's only way to survive is to regain the Presidency."

When someone advocated for a Trump-DeSantis ticket in 2024, Musk responded, "Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America."

"If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win - he doesn't even need to campaign," Musk continued.

Musk previously said last month that DeSantis was the candidate that he was leaning toward supporting in 2024 when asked about the matter. "I supported Yang last time, but DeSantis has a better chance of winning," Musk added.

Musk made waves on Tuesday when he responded to new attacks from Trump, who wrote on his social media platform: "When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it's electric cars that don't drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he'd be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, 'drop to your knees and beg,' and he would have done it."

"Now Elon should focus on getting himself out of the Twitter mess because he could owe $44 billion for something that's perhaps worthless. Also, lots of competition for electric cars!" Trump continued. "P.S., Why was Elon allowed to break the $15 million stock purchase barrier on Twitter without any reporting? That is a very serious breach! Have fun Elon and @jack, go to it!"

Musk quickly responded to Trump's tirade by writing "lmaooo" on Twitter followed by a GIF of Grampa Simpson from "The Simpsons" shaking his fist and yelling at the sky.

I am fine with DeSantis as president in 2024; he is more than capable now because of his vast experience: As a military naval officer; a respected member of congress; and a most successful governor of America's third most populace state, however ...

Donald Trump as the ticket headliner makes more sense in that it would: And do not dismiss this notion out of hand; this act would unite the Republican party in letting the best American president (easily the best) since "Ronaldo Maximus" finish what he started with little distraction from the non patriot Democratic Socialists, the party and their dishonest propagandist media; a party truly NOW with no reason to continue to exist - Mr. Trump is now thoroughly indemnified from the petty and incalculable dishonest acts of these Democratic Socialists.

Additionally, having a working Ron DeSantis as Vice President (Mr. Trump uses all of his important and loyal assets) would further condition the capable Mr. DeSantis to ascend to the presidency, prove to the American People that we can no longer allow or tolerate dishonest, non patriot idiots occupying the highest office - the Executive commanding our Representative Republic. President DeSantis would and will serve our People for a full eight years (two terms) with honor, dignity and rawboned intelligence, as any honest American patriot would.

Maybe then, the real patriots, the best of the Republican party, could rise to the occasion and save this constitutional Republic, otherwise: Who else is there NOW at this juncture of our Republic's self-governed struggle to exist in our a 246 year history to do so.
