Inflation Crushing Working Families | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

Advance, NC     Now that those Undecided Purple Voters are finally beginning to pay attention (mid-August is the new post-Labor Day as if you didn't know), Ted Budd for US Senate is up on the air with some new cinematic excellence. So, grab your popcorn and get ready. Click here if you want to spoil it and watch the ad or keep reading if you want to better understand the genius of this ad.

SPOILER ALERT - we're focusing on the negative impacts of the inflation caused by Biden policies embraced and supported by Cheri Beasley. Meanwhile, Beasley keeps rehashing the same, tired, old, and out-of-touch playbook that didn't work for Kathy Manning in 2018 (when Manning and her supporters outspent Ted by a 2-to-1 margin) or Casanova Cal in 2020.

And seriously, the ad is awesome. There's no dog in sunglasses or a monster truck but...whew...the Mom having to make tough choices and just CRUSH her daughter's meager request for some muffins all because of Joe Biden's bad decisions? Cinema-verité at its finest (and saddest for the working families of NC) my friends.

The working families of North Carolina are gonna go to the voting booth this November and ask themselves a couple of key questions.

1.) Have I done a double-take at my grocery store receipt pretty much every time I've shopped for groceries during the Biden Administration?

Yes. And that's a direct result of Joe Biden's policies that are lovingly supported by Cheri "Couch" Beasley.

2.) Can I buy as many groceries for the same price as it cost me two years ago?

No. All because Joe Biden keeps flooding the zone with reckless spending that doesn't address inflation, IT ACTUALLY CAUSES INFLATION. And Cheri Beasley has said she's all in on those types of Biden policies.

Felts FAQs that Voters do care about, but WRAL & McClatchy Editorial Departments Probably Hope Voters Ignore

Do NC Voters really care about this?

Big time. You want a high-falutin' national press outlet? Here's the Washington Post reporting about how food prices are still rising. The paper highlighted that one mother "avoids taking her children to the grocery store because 'little hands reach out and grab a lot more than I want them to.'"

OK man. The Washington Post said it's true but what about North Carolina journalists?

Lemme check. Woah! Check it out. Rare that I say this but let's see what the Charlotte Observer has to say on the subject! (Contemplating the rage-tweeting and ensuing editorial from the Gen Z editorial writers at the Charlotte Observer almost makes me giddy.)

Here we go, Chenell Maddox, a mother of six, told the Charlotte Observer, "We had to cut back on the amount of clothes that they get to start back to school in and also the amount that we will pay for shoes."

Holy-Back-to-School-Shopping-Blues Batman! Even the Charlotte Observer is reporting that working families are being negatively impacted by the inflation created by Joe Biden's bad policy decisions supported by Cheri Beasley.

I'm still not convinced. Are you SURE those random things I can't actually remember but Beasley brings up while filming ads on her couch rather than visiting all 100 counties on her 4th statewide campaign are not more important to NC voters instead of inflation like you say it is?

Working families shouldn't be forced to choose between putting food on the table or buying back-to-school supplies for their kids. Unfortunately, that is the reality in Biden's America as supported by Cheri Beasley. And yeah, this crushing inflation is exactly what voters are focused on.

    Are you REALLY sure?

Yep. I was an English major and, admittedly, not great with math. But even I can clearly see this inflation is crushing the working families of North Carolina. For my fellow "math is hard" types, let me break it down for you:

  • Overall CPI: +8.5% since last year
  • Meat, Poultry, & Fish: +9.3%
  • Milk: +15.6%
  • Eggs: +38%
  • Baby Food: +15%
  • Coffee: +20.3%
  • Real Average Hourly Earnings: -3%

Inarguably, the policies of the Democrats in congress and Joe Biden as the Executive is plunging the United States into a recession, if we are not already there; a recession that was completely avoidable. Will abrupt changes in policies occur in time?
Yes, the Democrats have a bold plan, yet to be revealed, to save us.
No, there will have to be a complete undoing of the damage done by these Democrats.
I can't do simple math, so how am I to understand the concept of basic economics.
