    Mr. Jackie Nicholson Skinner, age 76, a resident of Tankard Drive, Bath, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

    A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Kent Gurganus.

    Mr. Skinner was born in Beaufort County on February 22, 1946. He was the son of the late Bonnie Allen Skinner and Mary Kathleen Jefferson Skinner. Mr. Skinner served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired tugboat captain with C & P Tug and Barge Company. Mr. Skinner was a member of Hunter's Bridge Church of Christ.

    On December 27, 1969, Mr. Skinner married the former Sondra Fay Neal, who preceded him in death, June 15, 1986.

    Mr. Skinner is survived by his son, Brian Skinner and his wife, Elizabeth of Washington; daughter, Melissa Sprague of South Carolina; grandson, Wade Davenport; and sister, Doris Mae Skinner of the home.

    In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Skinner, Horace A. Skinner, and Ray Skinner: sister, Mary Margaret Fox and son-in-law, Todd Sprague.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hunter's Bridge Church of Christ, 15158 U.S. 264 East, Pinetown, N.C. 27865.
