Mrs. Norma Ann Shoemaker | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Norma Ann Shoemaker, age 74, a resident of Harvey Rd., Washington, NC, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Dr. Burke Holland. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 2:00 to 2:45 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC.

    Mrs. Shoemaker was born in Rowan County on April 2, 1938 daughter of Hayden and Edna Morgan. She graduated from China Grove High School in Rowan County and married Bill Shoemaker on April 9, 1955. Norma made Beaufort County her home for more than 40 years. She loved gardening and flowers and was a floral designer with numerous florists in Beaufort County and western North Carolina. Norma attended Smithton Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Devonia Ann Shoemaker Worthington and husband Ronald of Maury, NC and Linda Carol Shoemaker and companion, Wayne Sullivan of Washington; and her granddaughter, Amanda Lauren Steele of Hookerton, NC.

   She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hughes Morgan.
