Mrs. Margaret Walker Smith | Eastern NC Now

   Mrs. Margaret Walker Smith, beloved mother and grandmother of Washington, NC passed away on Friday January 11, 2013 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.

   Mrs. Smith was born in Washington, NC on November 10, 1919, daughter of William Robert and Bessie Clark Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Smith and two dear sisters, Carlyle Silverthorne and Doris Phelps.

   Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Linda S. Alexander and husband Dennis of Washington, NC and Kay S. Wainwright and husband, Ken of Greenville, NC; her grandchildren: Mark W. Alexander and wife Kendra of Greenville, NC and Krista W. Bass and husband Brian of Vista, CA; and her great grandchildren: Brody Alexander and Keelie and Dawson Bass.

   The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington on Sunday January 13, 2013 and other times at the home of her daughter, Linda Alexander located at 824 Mimosa Shores Road, Washington, NC. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday January 14, 2013 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Ray West and Steve Hill. Mark Alexander, Brian Bass, Kenneth Smith, Thomas Phelps, Jerry Smith and Jan Smith will serve as pallbearers.
