Kanye West Calls Black Lives Matter A ‘Scam,’ Declares It ‘Over’ After Wearing ‘White Lives Matter’ Shirt With Candace Owens | Eastern North Carolina Now

One day after wearing a "White Lives Matter" shirt with Daily Wire host Candace Owens in Paris, Kanye West declared the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement "over."

West and Owens shocked social media when the duo donned the "White Lives Matter" shirts, each of which also included a picture of the Pope's face on the front, while flanked by models in matching tops.

"Everyone knows that Black Lives Matter was a scam," West said on Instagram, where he has nearly 18 millions followers. "Now it's over, you're welcome."

The BLM movement has opposed law enforcement while promoting other radical ideas, like the disruption of the nuclear family.

"We are unapologetically Black in our positioning," the group's "what we believe" page said. "In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a prerequisite for wanting the same for others."

In 2020, in the wake of the death of George Floyd, damages from riots and looting were estimated at about $2 billion for insurance companies, making it the most expensive incident in insurance history.

The organization's financial handlings have turned heads. The leadership of BLM reportedly spent nearly $6 million in donations to purchase a 6,500-square-foot California mansion with the help of a high-powered Democratic Party law firm, The Daily Wire reported in April.

Last month, Shalomyah Bowers, a top leader in the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, was accused in a lawsuit of stealing upwards of $10 million from the organization for his own personal use, The Daily Wire reported.

West has criticized the Democrat narrative on numerous occasions, including when he met with then-President Donald Trump in 2018 in a "Make America Great Again" hat, and when he tweeted, "I love the way Candace Owens thinks." Owens is a fierce critic of the Democratic Party and Black Lives Matter.

The fashion designer last month made headlines when he took aim at the validity of the holiday Kwanzaa, The Daily Wire reported.

"They teach black kids Kwanzaa at Sierra Canyon," West said in a now-deleted post, referring to a private school in Chatsworth. "What the f*** is Kwanzaa and who made that bulls*** up? Everyone lives in LA for the check anyway so no one really cares about their children being indoctrinated."

Kwanzaa was created by black activist Maulana Karenga in 1966; in 1971 he was convicted of felonious assault and false imprisonment. He currently serves as chairman of the Africana Studies Department at California State University, Long Beach. The Kwanzaa festival is observed starting the day after Christmas for 7 days and involves celebrating seven Swahili values; a candle is lit each day on a candleholder.
