Mr. Ralph Wallace Hodges | Eastern NC Now

   Mr. Ralph Wallace Hodges, Sr., age 77, a resident of 119 Chancy Circle, Brunswick, Ga., died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at his home.

   Ralph was born in Washington, NC on January 25, 1935, to the late Lonnie Lee Hodges and Zelma Newman Hodges. He has been a resident of Brunswick, Ga. for more than 45 years. Mr. Hodges was married to the former Annette Spotts Isenhour, who preceded him in death.

    Ralph was owner/operator of Industrial Marine Diesel, where he worked as a master diesel motor mechanic. He also owned several large boats and worked on the water most of his life.

R   alph is survived by a son: R. Wallace Hodges of California, a brother: Lonnie Hodges and a sister: Joyce H. Harris, three nephews, three great-nephews and three great-nieces. He is also survived by: two stepdaughters, four stepsons, two special stepgrandchildren: Shane and Bryan Huggins, and his loyal and loved dogs “Chucky” and “Cocoa.” In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hodges is preceded in death by a niece: Melody Ann Harris.

   A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven, NC, officiated by Derik Davis. Burial will follow in Belhaven Community Cemetery. Mr. Hodges’ nephews: Paul Harris, Courtney Harris, Butch Harris, great nephews: P.J. Harris, Michael Harris and Dustin Harris will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Gilbert Newman.

   The family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home of his brother, Lonnie Hodges, 466 E. Water Street, Belhaven, NC 27810.
