Rapper Kanye West took a flamethrower to the legacy media Thursday and gave props to Daily Wire host Candace Owens while defending his right to voice an opinion that often bucks leftism.

The billionaire joined Fox News host Tucker Carlson in a wide-ranging interview and discussed how he is constantly targeted by the legacy media, doubling down on his decision to wear a "White Lives Matter" shirt along with Owens.

"The answer to why I wrote 'White Lives Matter' on a shirt is because they do. It's the obvious thing," West said.

West and Owens sported the outrage-inducing apparel during Paris Fashion Week earlier this week, and the fashion designer has been feuding with critics ever since. Ye told Carlson that he asked his father about the shirt, and his father simply responded, "A black man stating the obvious."

West explained to Carlson how he, as a celebrity and a black man, is expected to stick to the leftist script on political and social issues, and nodded to people like Owens, who speak what they believe regardless of what's expected of them.

Earlier on Thursday, West promoted Owens' new documentary on the George Floyd riots and Black Lives Matter coming out October 12. Owens dropped the trailer for the documentary Thursday on Twitter, and West followed up by posting the clip to his nearly 18 million Instagram followers.

The celebrity didn't shy away from discussing his pro-life stance or support for former President Donald Trump, calling out the "liberal nazi mob" who want him to stop voicing his opinion when it strays from leftist talking points.

"I really don't care about people's responses. I perform for an audience of one, and that's God," West commented.

West gave an example of a mob-like mentality commonly seen among the Left, saying he was told he would be killed for wearing a Trump hat after West made headlines for visiting the White House in a "Make America Great Again" hat. He also told Carlson that someone called him after the Paris fashion show and told him people who wear a "White Lives Matter" shirt will get beaten up.

"We are in a battle with the media," West told Carlson. "The majority of the media has a godless agenda."
