ancient Italian town offers $28,000 to move there

ENCNow

A solidly conservative three party coalition just won election in Italy, and now an ancient town in its sunny southern bootheal region of Puglia is offering people GBP 25,000 ($28,000) to move there.  The town of Presicce, which is just 15 minutes from pristine beaches, offers half of the money to buy a house and the other half to renovate it.   The prices of houses to renovate start at about $22,000.

Presicce was a prosperous center of olive growing and processing during the Renaissance when it was called "the city of green gold".  It has a range of houses on offer in its historic center.
