War on History - Richmond removes grave monument of General A.P. Hill | Eastern NC Now

"woke" desecration of grave of General Hill and his wife is inexcusable

ENCNow

The People's Republic of Richmond has sunk to a new low, grave desecration, as it removed the monument on the tomb of Lt. General A. P. Hill, CSA, and his wife in Richmond.   Destruction of historic monuments is what Marxists do, and the tombs of deceased leaders are too often not immune.  This War on History by the far left in America is very similar to Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution in Red China.

Unfortunately, this is not the first incident of grave desecration of our Southern generals by a city govenrment.  The grave monument of General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife were illegally removed by the City of Memphis, Tennessee in defiance of specific state laws.

Grave desecration is a criminal offense in all southern states, and the city officials involved in these attrociites should be indicted, convicted, and imprisoned.

Virginia is maybe a purple state at best. Democrats have very short memories as to how everything gets so messed up, which always reminds me that the problem with people not knowing what is real must be a problem within our Education Industry ... nay, not a problem, but a host of problems, very deep and foreboding.

You have your work cut out for you Charles, and thank-you for taking on this herculean task.

So much for diversity and inclusion. We've seen these kinds of things before. For example: 1. The Cultural Revolution launched by Chairman Mao Zedong in 1966 and lasting until his death in 1976. During these ten years the Chinese Communists destroyed priceless historical materials going back to the beginnings of Chinese society. 2. From the 1960s until about 1979 Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge did a Cambodian version of the Cultural Revolution as they sought to exterminate the "old society." 3. The demolition of the Bamiyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan during 2001 are another recent example of zealots having no respect for art, history, religion or the feelings of others. It's also worth mentioning the mass murders associated with these movements.

The phenomena occurring now in Richmond, and in fact all of the western world, are the same kinds of things.

Richmond was one of my favorite cities, because they embraced their history with their monuments and committed to building on that theme within their citywide community. Thanks to the "woke" movement, that has all been destroyed.

This disrespectful behavior has violated our families, our history, our art, and in effect all of our culture. This is how diversity transforms to conformity and inclusion transforms to exclusion, rapidly transporting us all toward totalitarianism. Count me out of this sick, mean, destructive movement. This is a huge threat to our civilization.

I quit having anything to do with Marxist / racist Richmond when they first started their attacks on our southern heritage. I drive through Richmond fairly often and used to stop there to eat or sometimes stay overnight.

Not anymore! Richmond is a Marxist hellhole. I wish Virginia would cede it to Massachusetts or even North Korea.

This is a vicious and uncalled for attack on our heritage. My own great grandfather, William Pinckney Rader, served in the 38th North Carolina in General A. P. Hill's corps of the Army of Northern Virginia. It is an insult to all southerners.
