Genital mutilation of males has severe side effects says Canadian study

Men who have genital mutilation surgery to transform to women often have severe and long lasting side effects according to a new study by Womens College Hospital in Ontario, Canada. Many do not have these common side effects explained to them before the surgery, and many continue to have these side effects for years after the surgery.

The most common side effect is severe pain requiring medical attention, which can last for years. Over half, 55% of males undergoing the surgery experience this side effect. Chronic bleeding was reported by 42%, dilation issues 46%, sexual problems 34%, poorly healing wounds 21%, and difficulty urinating 23%.

Another recent study shows that allowing children to undergo "gender transition therapy" results in a spike in suicides.

And yet, ECU Medical School is promoting these harmful surgeries. Are patients warned about the side effects? Genital mutilation of children is something that used to be confined to backward Third World countries.

One of the most fundamental rules of medicine is "first, do no harm". Procedures that assist patients in self-harm would not pass muster under that principle, whether it is assisted suicide or genital mutilation. But it is clear that someone who supports one type of self harm would likely be okay with another.

Oh, and Big Bob, legal "assisted suicide" is NOT legal in "many" US states. In fact, most Americans doing that have to go abroad to do it.

As with all elective surgeries CV, it pays to investigate all the possible outcomes. By doing so you might decide not to do it. Then again you might. Risk vs Reward. I'm not going to tell anybody what to do. Its called freedom.
I understand the notion that gender dysphoria might be considered a mental illness of some kind. I might even agree, but I think each individual case needs to be evaluated by doctors and shrinks. Who are we to say?

It appears that many doctors who are pushing genital mutilation are failing to warn of its very common and very serious side effects. It also appears from studies that at least among children, these "medical procedures" increase the risk of suicide, not a good outcome.

The National Health Service in the UK has advised its doctors that in the majority of cases, gender dysphoria among children is a passing phase that they grow out of. They further advised against hormone therapy, surgery, or even suggesting they use a different name or pronouns.

Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder like pyromania or kleptomania. Encouraging wayward ideas is not the way to treat any of these for the good of the person suffering that condition.

Anyway you shake it, if not done against your will, it's just elective surgery. Can it go bad? Sure. As can any surgery. Bottom line, transgender people exist. They make Big Bob uncomfortable, but they are human beings. I will not let my discomfort or a crackpot ideology convince me to be so disrespectful and hateful towards others.

The victims of this surgery end up badly mutilated whether they agreed to it or not. Those articles show that they suffer lots of other side effects, too, which the doctors are often not telling them about. These doctors are like Dr, Josef Mengele and are a disgrace to the medical profession.
