David Yates Daniel Sr. | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. David Yates Daniel, Sr. age 70, a resident of Old Forte Shores Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his home.

    Services will be held later.

    Mr. Daniel was born in Newton, N.C. on January 28, 1952. He was the son of the late William Ashley Daniel and Patricia Ruth Baker Daniel. Mr. Daniel was an Air Quality Technician with the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources. He was a member the First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Head of the Property Committee. Mr. Daniel served as Athletic Director at Washington High School from 2006-2007. As a youth, he played softball for several years. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing.

    On January 14, 1972, Mr. Daniel married the former Deborah Stephens, who survives.

    Surviving with his wife are his two sons, Yates Daniel and companion, Chris, Clinton Daniel and companion, Staci; grandson, Asher Daniel; two sisters, Jane Price and husband, Max of Wilmington, Shirley Harris of Atlanta GA; and brother, Tommy Daniel and wife, Margaret of Richmond, VA.
