    Mr. George Edward Sullivan, age 81, a resident of Washington, NC, died Friday January 27, 2023, at his home.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, officiated by Dennis R. Davis. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Sullivan, Lee Sullivan, Michael Leary, Eric Cox, Ernie Cornelius, and Eric Holmes. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynnie Sullivan and Michael Sullivan.

    The family will receive friends 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home in Washington, and other times at the home.

    Mr. Sullivan was born in Beaufort County on February 24, 1941, son of the late Theodore Rayfield Sullivan and the late Hilda Virginia Waters Sullivan. He was a 1960 graduate of Bath High School. On February 23, 1962, he married the former Linda Isoline Tuten who survives. Mr. Sullivan worked in Raleigh as a precision machinist before returning to his native Beaufort County. His career changed at this time to owner and operator of Sullivan Catfish Farm until his retirement in 2012. His hobbies included woodworking and golf. Mr. Sullivan attended Everetts Crossroads Church of Christ.

    Surviving along with his wife, Linda, of the home is a daughter Karen Sue Sullivan (Larry Schock) of Pinetown and son-in-law Mac Stokes of Greenville; brother: Ray Sullivan (Dora) of Washington, sisters: Sybil Leary (Curtis) of Cary, and Anna Cox (Wayne) of Washington; grandchildren: Hannah Schock (Candida) of Neptune, NJ, Charlie Stokes (Holton) of New Bern, and Linden Stokes of Boone; Mr. Sullivan was predeceased, along with his parents, by a daughter: Pamela Sullivan Stokes; a grandson: Aaron Schock; brothers: William E. Sullivan, and Leonard H. Sullivan and sisters-in-law: Pat Sullivan and Lou Sullivan.

    The family would like to thank Community Home Care & Hospice, family, and friends for their care and support.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
