Carolyn Sue Casper Hopkins | Eastern NC Now

    Carolyn Sue Casper Hopkins, age 70, a resident of the Pamlico Beach Community, died Sunday February 12, 2023 at her home.

    A funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday February 17, 2023 at The River Church in Bath, NC and will be officiated by Pastor Ron Bousquet, burial will follow in Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill.

    Mrs. Hopkins was born in Martin County on August 17, 1952 to the late George Asa Casper and Evelyn White Casper. On January 23, 1970 she married Murphy Jackson Hopkins, Jr. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family boats. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the singing group Manna. Mrs. Hopkins liked crafts and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of The River Church.

    Survivors include her husband, Murphy Jackson Hopkins, Jr., five children, Ronnie Lester Hopkins and wife Jennifer, Debbie Hopkins Foster, Dwayne Jackson Hopkins, George Murphy Hopkins and wife Crystal, Brian Anthony Hopkins, all of Belhaven, nine grandchildren, James Hopkins, Megan Hopkins, Brittany Woolard, Christian Foster, Emmah Hopkins, Luke Hopkins, Jack Hopkins, Alayna Hopkins, Mia Hopkins, two great grandchildren, Layla, Grayson, two, brothers, Edward Casper, Tony Casper, and two sisters, Shirley Holliday and Ruth Davenport.

    She is preceded in death by a brother, George Casper, Jr., and a sister Mabel Swain.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday February 16, 2023 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.
