    Richard Worthy, age 68, a resident of Washington, NC, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at home.

    Visitation will be held at 3pm-5pm Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Washington Assembly of God. The deacons of the church will serve as pallbearers.

    He was born September 3, 1954, in East Prairie, MO and graduated there in 1972. He retired from Texasgulf Aurora, NC, in 1992.

    Survived by long time room-mate Roger Witherington, ex-wife Darlene Goehring, two daughters, Anna Foster, and Sarah Waller; five grandchildren, Alexis McCracken, Micah Parrish, Hayley Braucher, Chyna Foster, and Emori Worthy; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Parrish, Grayson McCracken, Gage Taylor all from Washington, NC; two sisters, Joyce Wallace, AZ, Mary Ditto, MO; three brothers, Roy Worthy, MO, Roger Worthy, CO, Larry Worthy, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, AJ Worthy and Annie Mae Melton; six sisters, Eva Williams, Dorothy Russel, Shirley Eye, Patsy Conlin, Rebecca Garrett, Brenda Dozier; four brothers, Donald Worthy, Harold Worthy, Jerry Worthy, Baby Roger.
