    Mrs. Violet Virginia Brucoli DeCapita, age 94, a resident of 569 Chambers Point Rd., Belhaven, NC, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home.

    Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday March 12, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Smithton and will be conducted by Rev. Matthew Johnson. Memorial services in Youngstown, Ohio will be held this summer where she and her husband will be buried together.

    Mrs. DeCapita was born in Youngstown, Ohio she was the last surviving child of the late Pasquale and Anna Campana Brucoli. She was a graduate of Ryan High School and Youngstown School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse doing public health and hospital nursing. In 1980 she retired as charge nurse and operating room supervisor with Lorain Community Hospital. She loved cooking, quilting, bowling, golf, travel and most of all her family. Mrs. DeCapita was a member of First Baptist Church of Smithton.

    Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Chrystal and husband John of Pamlico Beach in Belhaven where Mrs. DeCapita lived since 2006, their daughter, Abbey of Santa Cruz, CA, one son, Michael DeCapita and wife Sarah Maxwell of Archbold, Ohio, his daughter Melissa of Lansing, Michigan, many nieces and nephews, cherished friends and relatives across the country. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward G. DeCapita in September of 2006.
