Now it is Mexico's President, Obrador who has denounced the Manhattan DA's charges against Trump as politically motivated.  "Supposedly legal issues should not be used for electoral political purposes," Obrador said "That is why I don't agree with what they are doing to ex-President Trump."

Latin American presidents, of countries that used to be called banana republics easily see the political hardball being played here.  El Salvador's President Burkele commented earlier, "Imagine if this had happened to the leading opposition candidate here in El Salvador."
